The 2009 Ulster County 4-H Livestock Auction held at the Ulster County Fair Grounds on Saturday August 2 was a huge educational and financial success which raised over $16,000. Most of the funds collected are used by the participating 4-H Youth Members by investing the funds towards college and individual auction projects for the following year. A small portion from the sales is donated to the 4-H Auction Committee for programming costs.

All the animals offered are raised as a part of the 4-H Market Production Project. The 4-H youth members work tirelessly each year, attending educational meetings and keeping business records, to earn the privilege of participating in this event. Only the “Blue Ribbon” animals judged as excellent are sold at the livestock auction.
